Apples!!

We had a lot of fun incorporating apples into our learning!!  We weighed our apples, used Apple Jacks to help us learn ways to make the number ten, learned that apples float in water because the apple is less dense than the water, observed apples in different liquids to see if the apples could be preserved, and used different materials to build an apple tree!!

Science and Math Fun!! Plus, Our Class Pet!!!

Sun, Moon, Stars!!  We've been learning all about the patterns of the sun and moon!!
We loved discovering what would make these clear "magic beads" turn colorful!!
After many experiments, we figured out it was sunlight!!
Then, we saw the sun on two pieces of paper (one with a tiny hole in it)!!

Then, we used our "magic beads" and pipe cleaners to make an animal!

Then, we worked in groups to create a shelter from the sun for our animal!

Moon Bag:  Each night, someone will have the moon bag to take home and draw a picture of what the moon looked like that night!!
We've been learning about all things addition... how to join numbers and how to create an addition number sentence.

Addition number sentence bracelets!!  We made bead bracelets to help us understand how to join two numbers together and create addition number sentences.

Dinosaur Footprint Number Sentences!!  We made addition number sentences with dots on a dinosaur footprint:)

We received a special delivery, our class pet, Luna!!  Luna is a sloth!! She came to us with a pet carrier, so we can take her home with us!!  We can take Luna to sports with us, we can do homework together, Luna can eat dinner with the family, and she can watch our favorite TV show with us!!  Luna loves stories, so we must read a story to her!!  Also, before returning her, we will write in Luna's journal about our time together!!
